Job Description:  Medication Aide Shift Supervisor

Under the supervision of the administrator, provide a range of services and supervision to residents of 129th Street Residence with the goal of enabling residents to live permanently at 129th Street Residence as safely, as happily, and independently as possible.


  • Assure all medications are administered according to the medication orders and in compliance with all applicable Department of Health regulations including: assuring prescriptions, inventory, record-keeping, assistance with administration/monitoring of medications.
  • Coordinate all resident appointments and assure appropriate documentation of these appointments.
  • Assure all documentation is completely timely and meets DOH standards


  • Assist with the personal hygiene and physical well-being of residents.
  • Assist residents as needed in activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, walking, eating and personal care.
  • Assist residents in participating in activity programs and in the life of the facility.
  • Arrange appropriate escorts for residents to medical and other appointments.
  • Assist residents in administration of medications.


  • Work with Social Service staff and any other agencies to assist with ¬†resident adherence with medication regimen.
  • Work as a member of a team to establish and maintain high level of care, respect for, and communication with residents.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members.
  • Communicate effectively with appropriate staff about resident progress, needs, and problems
  • Attend training sessions and conferences for enhancement of job skills, as required.
  • Implement emergency procedures, as necessary.
  • Submit all required reports in a complete and timely manner.
  • Assist with other duties, as directed.


  • Minimum of one year experience working with dependent persons.
  • Preferred: Experience working with elderly persons, homeless persons, and/or persons living with serious mental illness.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Emotionally, mentally, and physically able to perform job responsibilities.
  • Good computer skills and detail oriented.
  • Able to speak, read, and write English (as required by DSS regulation 487.9.13).


Thursday, 2pm-10pm
Friday, 2pm- 10pm
Saturday, 6am-2pm
Sunday, 6am-2pm
